Climbing Lion's Head
So this day, not sure which it was, I set out to climb Lion's Head, which you can see from the window in Chris and Lisa's living room. Not loving heights, I was assured that it would be no problem but climb along with me and see what you think.
This is it, not really as high as Mount Marathon though a bit steeper in places...remember Lisa has done it several times so how hard could it be..
Not having a dog along this did not bother me but I was a bit worried about my own undies on the way down.
A few views from the starting area: The city.
The goal....
Table Mountain...The trail actually winds around the mountain about one and half times so you get panoramic views of pretty much everywhere.
Both of these pictures are of the mountains called the 12 Apostles which are down the coast from where Lisa and Chris live but not far..

Looking back up at the top early on

Path on the left...
Backside..depending on what you call front etc....
A view of Robben island...nice place for a prison.
Getting steeper...
Checking out the top...
Signal Hill, also known as the Lion's tail....Lisa and Chris live in the community off to the left called SeaPoint. The downtown area is off to the right.
The first of 2 ladders..
Coming around the first loop and getting a view of Devil's Peak...Supposedly some guy had a smoking contest with the devil and the smoke led to the tablecloth on Table Mountain thus giving this peak its name...
Climbing a short area with chains to hang onto..
The second ladder...what did that sign say about Dogshit???
Second ladder again...
and looking down from the second ladder....wish you were here.
The top marker...

Two city views from the top..
and proof that I made it....
